...simple pleasures and fun are the best...stairs + slick sleeping bag + two sweet girls=lots of fun!!!

...early morning coffee and quiet Bible time for me and quiet book time for the one snuggling in...
...early morning quiet devotion time scenery...love a good crackling fire on a chilly morning...
...Sourdough Einkorn Biscuits...yummy!...
...winter cabbages have done and been amazing!...
...the one picture snapped during the whole time spent away for my jaw surgery...KeKe went with us and provided the extra we just needed, lol...it all worked out okay...I am thankful it's over, as it was a procedure I was dreading...
...heading out to get the mail :)...
...Clover is KeKe's current favorite hen :)...
...KeKe LOVED 'helping' Mommy clean the henhouse out, lol, she entertained the chickens more than anything with treats...
...Rosie coming in to say hello :)...
...Clover is one of the friendliest hens, always has to see what's going on...
...the best part of helping is the occasional wheelbarrow ride from here to there :)...
...and of course, these two fellas had to check in and see what we were doing...
...such a sweet sight and a sight I never tire of seeing: big brothers read to littlest sis...
...stopped at the library to get books and ran into several fellow CCA students :)...
...enjoying some outdoor sunshine on our neighbor's swingset and of course, this kitty had to join too...

...yep, already giving the doggies treats, even before she gets dressed for the day :)...
...a peek into Jadon's continued training...he has battled being homesick, lately, but is being resolute in staying faithful in pursuing his training.  He is loving and excelling, overall, in the training.  He advanced from Phase 2 to Phase 3 with an award of Excellence, not many received it.  It is hard-earned and an honor to receive an Excellence award...

...we surprised him for Valentine's weekend and showed up for a 24-hour "we love you" visit...it was great and so wonderful to spend some time with him...we cooked supper and took it to him, spent the evening catching up, playing games, catching up on some Outdoor Boy episodes(something all the kids love to do together and prefer to wait until they can all do it together), went to church with him and then out to eat before heading back to Brownwood...Racing little sister down the hall of the visitor dorm...

...chatting and catching up over supper...

...enjoying some matching card games for littlest sister :)...
...catching up all together on some Outdoor Boy Survival episodes...
...leaving church and heading to eat out...someone was NOT happy we were going to eat versus going to the playground that was across the street from the church...can you tell who was unimpressed with the going out to eat?  LOL!...
...what a wonderful place to eat, Zen Kitchen BakeHouse, in Kilgore...
...quietly each doing their own thing in front of a crackling fire one evening...
...Logos Online School Fellowship in Gatesville, TX...these fellowships are such a blessing...

Resoluteness: the state or quality of being resolute, characterized by firmness of purpose, unwavering determination, and a strong will to achieve goals.

February's word for the month was Resoluteness, as we have been in a bit of a hard season for our whole family, to where it takes one to dig deep and cling to purpose, determination, and keeping goals and character pursuits in sight, when it'd be easier to let them go; easier now, not easier later.
God is faithful and God is good; therefore we will be resolute and make it through this season of challenge.

Quotes for Thought:
"Few things will last after we die, but our children and their children will live throughout eternity.  What we do as mothers, therefore, has eternal significance."
~sally clarkson~

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
~martin luther king jr~

"If I have done anything; even a little, to help small children enjoy honest, simple pleasures, I have done a bit of good."
~beatrix potter~

"The prayers we weave into the matching of socks, the stirring of oatmeal, the reading of stories, they survive the fire."
~ann voskamp~
