August's Transitions

 Howdy :)

August was settling back home after a season of travel and preparing for the various transitions in our crew for the next season or a new season...moments caught on camera...

...enjoying some Rosie time: washing her, braiding her hair, and then going on a nice walk with her...she is such a cutie of a mini horse...

...all us girlies loved playing with Rosie...

...the pullets are starting to lay...yay!!!...
...RIP Aslan(he lived a good, long betta life) and welcome Topaz...
...monitoring to make sure I am doing the canning correctly, LOL!...
...barnyard roosters canned for the winter for quick meals...
...the gallons of maple syrup we brought back from Kansas are now canned and preserved...canning is such a satisfying accomplishment when you see all the jars lined up on the shelf...
...picking her morning tea :)...
...the last few pictures of the guys' Quest part of their summer...

...we went over for the completion banquet and then enjoyed taking these two out for breakfast the following morning before heading back home...
...this book has been such a good read!...
...Janessa's first campus day for school, and KeKe is about to climb out of her skin with feeling 'lost'...she finally decided playing on the trampoline with the sprinkler was the best way to pass the time...
...the 25-26 school year is starting and getting underway...
...a sweet kite gift from a lovely neighbor and friend...this also set the girls on a trajectory of loving kites recently :)...

...a little girl and some of her all-time favorite animals...
...and meet GINGER the chicken who has decided she MUST lay eggs on the front porch couch, daily!!!  She is a hoot and it has been so fun and even educational having a chicken so determined to snuggle up and lay an egg...she is also very friendly, tame and LOVES to be talked to and petted...

...one of the last times to swim with Jadon before he heads out...
...heading over...

...ah, I love the big brother and sisters bond...
...whew, small but mighty...thought these mini puzzles would be a breeze, but found they are WAY harder than they look :D...
...some lake fun...

...Jadon and some of his Roberson coworkers :)...
...snuggled up and listening to a Little House on the Prairie audiobook...
...Jadon's weekend in Kansas, visiting grandparents before being gone for the fall...Kansas landscape is so gorgeous...

...apples ripening in the orchard...
...Grandpa Meyer and Jadon are both mowing...
...Jadon thoroughly enjoyed his time and was so glad he made the effort to go...

...this one said she wanted to eat like a dog...sister chuckled and happily obliged her...lol...

...he spent one evening up on the roof of our house...if anyone knows what our house roof looks like, it is rather steep, and he sat clear at the top peak, just watching the world go by for a while.  He did not want off, as he ignored all of our attempts to call him down.  He then moved to the guttering, and all you could spy was the tip of his tail and ears: can you see them?...

...why sure, we can do Saturday breakfast on the front porch...
...well, running to the vets was not on the Saturday docket...and a couple hundred bucks later, to get a tangle with the dresser drawer all sewn up, with 20 stitches, from having the frisky zoomies...he put a little over a 3 inch gash in his side...the dresser won and Caspian lost...we are still like HOW????....

...we got the fun times of getting to care for this milk goat for a good month...the girls loved helping milk and mastered getting milk out and it was the highlight of chores, was getting to do Violet...

...Violet, the sweet milk goat, and Slim Jim, the pretty, but dense-as-a-brick buck...
...Jason's cousins from the Czech and his aunt from Kansas...it was so good getting to visit, catch up, and see them on their travels...thanks bunches for making the stop and y'all are welcome anytime!...
...the power of prayer...what seemed like it could have been worse, ended up being not being as bad and the healing was faster than expected...praise the Lord...

...smiling now with two shots of morphine, lol...
...treated and ready to head home from Parkland Burn Unit: with 5 shots of morphine, IV morphine, IV steroids and another IV painkiller...he even asked as we were walking out, if I wanted him to drive home...very sweet...I but looked at him and said, Um, no... thank you, but I think I need to be the one driving :)...
...game time...

...one of the new sandwiches from Baked Artisan, and it is totally worth splurging and getting...drool worthy :)...

...Jadon's last evening here until Thanksgiving...he asked the girls what they wanted to do, and they said a survival video...and he filled their tank up doing just that...

...early morning goodbye hugs...I didn't shed as many tears...but it still isn't easy sending him off each time...
...and he is off...
...love you and have a fall glorifying God in your training...
...and just like that again, we are spread out like flying birds :)...
...Kirk flew to Kansas to help Meyer's grandparents move to Manhattan, KS...finished loading the trailer Thursday evening and heading back over to Uncle Caleb and Aunt Elli's to spend the night...
...some Kansas views...

...after unloading in Manhattan, KS...
...the next day he ran some errands up there for me, visited Rokeyroad Creamery, and enjoyed a bit of time with the Rokey side cousins...

...loading the truck for the drive to Texas...so excited and loving these squash and pumpkins from Aunt Becky...thank you!...
...lots of goodies packed and ready to roll...
...Kirk and his cousin, Keelan, drove G'pa Meyer's truck back to Texas...we bought it and needed to get it down to Texas, and this seemed the best fit to get it here...it was a long drive, but they made it safe and sound!...

...we enjoyed having Keelan here immensely and hopefully he will bless us with another visit again sometime...game fun the first evening here...

...more pics in September of this visit :)...
Praying each and every one of y'all's fall, as school gets underway and life continues to march on, is filled with peace, calm, joy, and gumption for life.
