Shades of September
Howdy Y'all :)
Slowly, very slowly, I think the weather is getting the memo that it should be cooling off! Amongst the hope for cooler weather and rain, life keeps steadily slipping by to become shades of life. Here are some of the shades of September in pictures...
...egg shades are so beautiful...
...and here is our avid and enthusiastic egg gatherer...
...we have never had a 'gray' egg, but the egg in the center of this cluster definitely had a 'gray' hue to it...
...painting the small chicken coop...and the 'help' does help make the project a bit longer :D...
...we ended up having to give her a little art paintbrush for damage control...LOL, I LOVED her desire to help though!...
...wow, how did this last first-day school picture already get here...
...first day of his junior year...
...yep, I love these sons bunches!!!...
...we seriously have some of the best neighbors ever! Each one of them is special in their own way, but all the best! Enjoying an evening in our neighbor's backyard, letting the girls play...
...we stayed until bedtime playing and she finally talked us into taking a ride on this before leaving...and she decided it was funner and more challenging to stand up while driving it!...
...my littlest sidekick and the guard dog :)...
...our neighbor's pool has been a fun blessing in beating some of this heat...the kids have enjoyed swimming with some friends...
...yep, she is keeping up with her own wheels to go feed Bolt the steer across the road...
...she decided after loping on Gray this lesson, that he is not her favorite horse for loping; otherwise, she loves him!...
...hmmm, we have another future cowgirl...she will not sit on a horse with a saddle: bareback is a for sure though!...
...can you tell we just got back from the library ;)...
...quiet morning compadres:)...
...an evening this Daddy we love took over the bedtime reading...love this!....
...big sister reading to little sister...love this too!...
...a beautiful Saturday morning rain that kept us from moving on to the outside to-do list allowed us to linger with books and coffee for a while on the front porch enjoying the view and sound of the rain, even one of the teen guys joined us for a time...
...um, why yes, this is the best part of the chiropractor's office, lol :)...
...a bright spot in the dry bleak landscape...
...oh my, you might need to send help, lol! This girl can be SO goofy at times!...
... hmm, did you ask your big brother if you could wear his hat? My guess is not...
...Texas sage and butterfly beauty...
...serene and calm evening hours at Riverside Park...
...why yes, Mom took me to feed the ducks at Riverside...she said she used to take my bigger sister to feed them all the time and I hadn't had the experience and I LOVED it...PS: so did the ducks :)...
...caught red-handed!!! I made homemade ice cream for an event and turned my back for a couple of minutes and returned and found these two happily munching on the container that was to go into the freezer!...
...KeKe and Rella Rosie...
...these three :)...
...Buddy has been a great dog and this girl loves him...
...I spy you :)...
...yep, she konked out walking...sure wish it would of been in her bed though...
...these two pusses fight over the top of the cupboard space...
...and then they can be so chill with each other...Mittens definitely has warmed up more to Mango...
...Mango cracks us up with his favorite ways to sleep and hang out...
...and his favorite place to drink water, lol!...
...yummy pumpkin muffins...
...attempting to knock out some school in a change of scenery to our neighbor's backyard...it didn't help the school girl focus like I had hoped it would though...but KeKe had a ball of fun :D...
...yes, I gathered the eggs and no I did not want my picture taken(hence the lack of a smile)...
...the first 5k for the fall...they would have already run a few, but one got canceled, one we ended up having a schedule conflict, and one the storms made the decision to opt out of running it...they have been doing weight workouts, so have not been running in weeks, but they still ran decent times...way to go!...
...16!!!!...Happy, Happy Birthday to this kind, caring, strong, compassionate, capable, confident young man! We love you BIG and hope you felt as blessed on your birthday as the blessing you are to life and our family!...
...each year the cake he makes for his birthday gets better and better...
...this little lady decided to run and ride in the older kids' duathlon instead of her age group at CCA Lake Days...she didn't come in first, but she did amazing and didn't come in last...a bit of a competitive spirit...
...dried carrot sorting station that Jason set up for some work stuff...KeKe loves eating dried sweet potatoes :)...
...our traditional pedi's for her birthday(went early this year though)...love her!...
...her trike before one of the tires blew and sounded like a bomb had gone off...
...Kirk has been spending a fair amount of time practicing with his longbow...he is igniting a passion for archery in his younger sister too :)...
Enjoy the autumn season!
Love and blessings :)
