September's Shift
Hello to all!
As we step into September, the weather made a major shift to fallish weather! It has been unusually cool and wet for this region of the states and definitely the coolest, wettest fall since being in Texas!
We have felt the absence of Jason/Daddy traveling more for work, but are also very thankful he has a job! Starting school was tough for the first 6ish weeks....getting used to new curriculum, schedule, routine...but about 7/8 week mark; I can tell we are getting into the swing and familiar with new studies, as our days now don't end with everyone about strangling everyone else-lol!
Labor Day weekend, found Jason and the boys camping with another dad and sons...they had a blast and lots of fun!
Janessa and I had girl's time at home, babysitting a couple of girls a little older than Janessa. They had lots of fun, too....we even had to "roast" marshmallows too...LOL...just not as primitive as brothers/dad did ;D....
...campfire cooking...
...late night hot pockets in the fire...
...us girls' roasting marshmallow-lol!! But hey, it worked! ;)...
...chicken and goat fun...
...bubble fun...
...This girl and her(um, actually Jadon's) pet chicken that she claims as her OWN!! She takes this chicken EVERYWHERE with her. Surprisingly, the chicken seems to enjoy it!
Oh, and she is getting to where she will only eat "green" eggs :)...
...um, now this is a no-no for this bird to be IN the house, but she tried-lol...
...the chicken has also gone swinging and down the slide besides playing "house" with her...
...this boy, his book, and his robe...they really are a threesome ;)...
...a rare quiet evening with all three reading books....
...fall as arrived not only outside but also some on the inside...
...she has only been pushing this "friend" around on this outdoor storage cart for about 10 minutes-LOL!...:)
...another friend ;)...
...Jason and the boys enjoyed a Father/Son Weekend at a cabin...the intent was for fathers speaking into sons lives and encouragement on fatherhood and sons owning their life in Christ...boys really enjoyed it!...
...view from the cabin porch...
...someone was POSITIVE Daddy was taking her "hunting" when he got home from work(this is her hunting outfit...well, Daddy decided to take her "hunting" for George the retired ranch horse, since the boys and I were going to be gone that evening for a couple of hours...they also took the BB gun and shot at a few birds...she had a blast!...
...smiles...
...George and a little cowgirl...
...the cows saying hello...
...all working on putting up the swing that came from Jason's Grandpa's barn...the kids love swinging on it!...
...Kirk's 11th Birthday!! WOW!! How can he be this old already?!?!?!
It has brought tears to my eyes to think he is this old already but also SO thankful for the healthy, smiling, caring, kind, smart young man he is growing into! Here he is working on his scavenger hunt for his birthday package ;)....
...he is close to unlocking the last riddle to find his birthday gift...
...DF/GF dark chocolate cake made by Kirk! He did a great job and it was very tasty! The cake pan was from our Kansan library that we still love! Jason/Daddy took it back to Kansas when he was traveling for work.
Hoping this finds everyone enjoying the shift of summer to autumn of September. We will see you around for the finishing of October soon...love and blessings to all!
