June's Simmerings

Hello all!
Hoping this finds everyone doing well ;)
Here are the simmerings of June.  We had a busy, fun and full month being in Kansas, mommy/son date with Kirk caving, Father's Day celebrations and much more...
...headed to Kansas and stopped for this beautiful pic in the flint hills and to stretch our legs...
...the cabin that one of my cousins owns that we stayed at while in Kansas.  It was a wonderfully fun place to stay and completely 'unplugged' with no reception what-so-ever, but nice for a change.  We honestly weren't there the whole time, as we had a very busy schedule, but enjoyed the time that we were there with grandparents and a few friends...
...view of the entrance and dirt road going north...
...view where vehicles parked looking towards the cabin...
 ..the cabin front...
...looking towards the parking from corner of cabin...
...view towards the sandy beach area...
 ...enjoying some fishing...
...view coming back from an early morning walk...
...watching the kayaks, and wishing she was old enough to do it ALL by herself!...
 ...reeling in a fish...
 ...peaceful...
 ...some friends over...
...wiener roast at Papa and Ma Meyer's house with family...
 ...cousins sorting rocks...
...two very ornery cousins, playing tag of a sorts-lol...
...older cousins doing a group tag game...
...cousin time feeding treats to the chickens...
 ...that smile ;)...
...snacks are better with cousin friends, right?...

 ...what a fun swing...
...checking out some of the cousins' rabbits...
 ...G'pa Rokey's kittens...
 ...Omaha Zoo...
...absolutely one of our FAVE zoos!!!...
...I didn't get too many pics for some reason, probably because there was so much to see and trying to keep track of Janessa!...

...must keep our tradition of stopping at Ted and Wally's Handcranked Ice Cream after the Omaha Zoo...they have DF options, Keto and Paleo ice cream too that are amazing!...
...then we grabbed a sushi supper on the way home-yum!...
...early morning walk with a friend that doesn't live to far the cabin...
...we spend at evening at our old homestead fishing, seeing the place and visiting family...
...loading up the catch of the evening with some cousins...
 ...fish and cousins...
...its about these fishy's turn to be butchered...
...they have made wonderful fish tacos!...
...checking the stringer of fish out...
...i think this place will always hold a special place in our heart...
...go cart engine went out, not a problem, there is plenty of leg power...
...getting ready to walk down our old lane...
...Rokey cousin swimming put together by Jason's Aunt Sherri, fun!...
...snacks are best with friends and doggy friends ;)...
...our gardening has suffered very dearly this year!  The Tower Garden had too many attacks from the goat herd accidentally getting into the back yard several times and then the final straw was some tornadic type wind we had that took it from 30 plants down to 3, and this was the 4th planting of the tower garden.  I cleaned it up and packed it away until early fall and decided to try this route for a small garden...its doing pretty good and looks like we might get a bit! yay!...
...changes are happening around here, as the yard stuff gets started and done...
...we are excited to get it all done and the small barn...
 ...friends...
...the boys LOVE their army jackets some sweet friends sent them...

...she re-dressed herself today and decided to pull the hunting boots out...
...FINALLY, the garage is cleared, unpacked and has room for a vehicle now.  This was a job that was long overdue in getting all the boxes unpacked and sorted through!...
...Father's Day--we love this man so much!...
...splash pad and water fight fun on a Sunday evening...

...church wide pool party, breaking for snacks...
...this 'sunshine' bouquet showed up one recent week that Jason was traveling-loved it!...
...concrete just poured...a fire pit will go in yet...
...west concrete pad, just dry and ready for kiddos...
...drive way entrance being redone...now it isn't quite so hard to get in :)...
...Mill Pond Park fun, a baby turtle...
 ...a crawdad...
...Mommy/Son date with Kirk at Natural Bridge Caverns...
 ...the sink hole...
 ...the caverns were amazing!...

...the left column here was 8 feet diameter and 20 feet high...

...this cavern was bigger than a football stadium, made one feel so small...
...the football stadium sized cavern just towards the top looking down...
...we went to the Wildlife Bridge Ranch on the way home...well worth it, it was completely amazing to see ALL kinds of animals up close and eating feed from you.  There were WAY TOO many animals to post pics of all of them, so here are a few of our faves...
...there was a wildebeest baby right down by the van door...
 ...those horns!...
...here are only some of the giraffes that were there...
...loved this Orstrich, it came up and actually stuck its head into the van window looking for food...
And with that folks, we will say good-bye until next time.
Love and blessings ;)
