January's Frosty Bits

 Hello All :)

January's Frosty Bits was a month of fewer snapshots as it zoomed along.  There was a mix of school, prolonged continued recovering from illness, and the normal day-to-day.  January's Frosty Bits snapshot trail...

...Mittens, aka, Sweets...

...and he LOVES heat, lol!...
...Janessa's Cross Classical Academy 24-25 school pictures...

...Kirk enjoying attending the homeschool Victorian Era ball again...it has become a mid-winter highly anticipated event...he is helping out a bit before it starts...so thankful for the sweet family who we stay with when we go to it...
...love this young man...
...hamdsome and spiffy...

...Jadon returning to training...Jason dropped him off, as he won't need a vehicle for the next 6 months...the truck is loaded and they are heading out...
...getting settled into the dorms...
...some pics of the start of this training phase...he is doing well overall and is excelling in some areas...Jadon may not be noticeable to most, but he is in most of these pics, as long as you know his haircut line along his ear, his shoes, his water bottle, posture/stance, profile, etc...lol, it's funny how much info the details can provide...

...Kirk has started training for another half marathon...here are some of the pictures he has snapped while out running...I can totally see how stress relieving running can be just by enjoying some of the views he gets from running :)...

...Maizy, our goose, decided that she didn't want to be on our pond anymore and disappeared one day. After much looking, we finally found her in a pond, in the pasture behind our house...we tried getting her to come back and stay, but she wouldn't...finally last week she decided to return and seems content on staying, lol...she is her own goose I guess...we definitely know she doesn't fly well at all and her landings are deplorable, lol!...

...helping a friend haul this off...think it's gonna make it?  Yes, it did...it hardly fit though...
...chilly day, warm gear, the sun, and a kitty...
...we decided to try some Cloud Eggs...they were pretty good, although, we liked them baked longer than the recipe called for...
...she got up from her nap, but then wanted me to cuddle her, so we cuddled in the sun on the front porch and she fell back to sleep :)...
...a project for school...she had to pick a recipe from a story in some of her Reading curriculum for the week and make it...she picked the smoothie from the story and it was YUM!!!  We have now named it Citrus Sunrise and it has become a favorite smoothie in our household...
...this little gal LOVES her animals...she has 'herds' often all over the house :)...

...first time ever to get a hair trim.  I wasn't sure I wanted to give in and get her hair trimmed a bit, but it was ratting so bad at the ends, we had the split ends trimmed off.  She wasn't too sure at first, but at the end, she was smiling :)...
...hmmm, a peek over Kirk's shoulder, as he is in the middle of a writing challenge...LOL, I wonder if these kitties are helping or detracting?...
...LOL, do you think they want in or what?...

...a delicious and yummy meal of Kimchi Cauliflower Fried Rice...
...I started this book, paused as I read some others, and am now finishing it...it is excellent and worth reading...
...we love pour-overs, chemexs, nanopresses, and our latest method of brewing: aeropresses...they all are great methods of brewing a great cup of joe...they all end up with a slightly different taste of brew, but all delicious and have made it fun enjoying coffee...
...Dodger had the hardest time accepting Mango, but now they are some of the cuddliest of our cats...
...yep, the marble tower is still being enjoyed...
Praying for a healthy spring for us and for all!

As we are entering a new season of having young adult children, the following quote is something that hit home with me last week...I want them to be confident, independent, capable young adults, yet at the same time, I want there to always be a place in our home/hearts for them to know they are welcome in at any moment:
"It matters that people have somewhere to come home to and that there be beds and meals and space and order available there."
~margaret kim peterson~

A couple other quotes for thought/ponderings/musing on...

"F-E-A-R has two meanings: 'Forget Everything And Run' or 'Face Everything And Rise'.  The choice is yours."
~zig ziglar~

The last quote has been a prayer for our home for years; that it can be a place of refuge and peace and yet provide constructive growth, be a place filled with learning and education and wisdom...

"The home is not just a place to change clothes between activities and then crash at night; rather it should be a vibrant center of education, industry, service, and worship.  God created the home to be a place bursting with activity and conversation, while simultaneously providing peace and refuge."
~zan tyler~
