Jigs of August

Howdy Y'all!
Here are the jigs of August...the theatrical play the boys were in, was the first few days of August, along with more completions around the place, everyday and the last of summer jigs, school starting, and learning more and more of how we are really held in the hollow of God's hands.  Here are a few pictures that capture only some of August's jigs.

...mommy/daughter strawberry sorbetto treat while we wait for play dress rehearsal to end, The Turtle Restaurant's sorbetto is the best!
...the first evening production of the play, they did a great job and was fun to watch them.  Both boys were so sad to see it end...
...the small barn we put in...
...excited to have it for hay, feed and an old barn swing that is rather an heirloom from Jason's side of the family...
...pretty much about done, except for getting grass to grow ;)...

...we have been living pretty much outside...eating meals, Bible devotions in the morning, etc...
...love the rock slabs to the trampoline...
...kids have loved having room to rollerblade, ripstick, etc...
...these rocks gracing the base of the Mountain Laurel are true Kansas rocks, picked up with Dad/Papa Meyer from various fields...they got lugged all the way to Texas and now finally found a home ;)...
...Kirk is inspecting the fig tree...
...we are SO thrilled to have it and it came with 2 figs and is setting more on...

...the chicks the kids got back in February are now laying eggs.  It has been SO fun to get eggs and Kirk said the other day that he thinks its the best to go gather from the nesting boxes and come in and make a recipe with eggs.  We are blessed!...
...the greenish/blue eggs are ALWAYS fought over-lol!...
...this gal mastered riding her trike...problem with that, is that she likes to ride it now up the road and back(about 1 mile) and our now power walks have turned into just little less...good thing, she gets LOTS of exercise-lol!  And after going 1 mile on this she is MORE than willing to still walk/run another mile...her little legs GO ALL the TIME!....
(and yes she is barefoot most of the time-lol :)...
...another bike ride, this time with big brother coming along...
 ...love it...
...fresh Blueberry Glace Pie, one of our family's all-time favorite summer treats-yum...
...Money, our lovable bottle calf...he also LOVES cookie treats just like the goats-lol :)...
...it looked like our pond was going to possibly dry up with so little rain and not ever being fully maxed, so we netted all the fish that we had stocked it with and relocated them to a rancher's pond...well, wouldn't you know, it rained a couple days later...we were like yep and if we wouldn't of done this, it probably wouldn't of rained-lol ;)...
...but at least 2 boys and a little girl got to enjoy the mud, fish, and petting/combing the retired ranch horse out by the ranch pond that we took the fish too...
...the boys get to help feed cows once a week, and Janessa has begged to go too, so one week ALL went, and we had time to have fun on the zipline there...Janessa was too scared to go up in the harness but LOVED chasing her brothers from the ground yelling at them-lol ;)...

...having fun at San Saba with some friends...
...swimming...

...feeding the ducks...
...starting a new school year...
...it is a lot different than the last 4-5 years.  The boys go to classroom days, at Cross Classical Academy, 2 days a week and have 3 days they are home working on assignments.  It is all new curriculum and we are ready to be in a routine with it...

...a very serious game of chess...like there was absolutely no talking or any sound what-so-ever coming from these two, just serious thinking quiet... ;)
...San Saba again to meet G'ma/G'pa Rokey for the afternoon and then they came up to spend sometime with us...railroad tracks over a nature walking trail, that the kids did ripsticks and trikes on...

...we then ate at Bread-to-Dough(its worth eating there folks! They also have great GF/DF options).  So, I don't generally let my boys get these kinds of things, but they had shown some great character growth and was willing to split it, so I let them split a milk shake...they enjoyed it ;)
 ...having fun with Rokey grandparents...
...trampoline fun...
 ...Croquet, many fun games ;)...
...a picture that Kirk took for one of his art projects,
Chief being his friendly(almost pesky friendly) self and bidding y'all a happy jig of a day...until September's writings!  Blessings to all ;)
